Madden 23 has been out for over a month now, but there are still a lot of issues players have with the game. Despite lots of complaints and problems – with Franchise Mode being particularly troublesome – the game is still lacking a major patch to fix the issues. Unfortunately, this patch isn’t it either, but the patch notes do come with a promise that it’s on the horizon.

We’ll cover what was fixed in this update and the statement on when the next major patch is coming to save Madden 23 a bit of face two months after launch.

Madden 23 update 1.004 patch notes

This patch has been released for the game on all platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Origin. Here are the full patch notes:

Stability improvements
Addressed a rare player model issue

As always, “stability improvements” could mean pretty much anything, but it hopeful addresses some of the minor crashing issues players might have experienced. However, the main headline from the post that contained these patch notes – made by Community Manager EA_Blitz – is the part where they explained what was next for Madden 23.

“Continuing with our commitment to live service, our next Title Update focuses on player feedback from the launch-window of Madden NFL 23. This update is currently targeted for mid-October and the full updates will be detailed via Gridiron Notes.”

This hopefully means that the litany of bugs that have played the game and Franchise Mode since launch will finally be put to rest, and those who have given up on playing the game due to these bugs will be able to return to the game in mid-October.
