IDOLM@STER Million Live! TV Anime Releases Teaser Trailer

The official website for IDOLM@STER Million Live! the TV anime went live on Saturday, and along with the launch of the website, the series began streaming a teaser promotional trailer. The trailer reveals that the anime will begin playing in Japanese theaters on August 18, before its October TV premiere.


The series will play in theaters in Japan in three-week screening runs, with the first part running from August 18 to September 7. The second part will run from September 8 to the 23rd. Finally, the third part will run from September 29 to October 19.

Screening cards in two sets, the Producer Set and the 765 Set, featuring exclusive art will be available to purchase from the Asobi Store service. The Producer Set will include three ticket cards, a neck strap and card case, a concert penlight, and an acrylic art stand. The 765 Set will include only the three ticket cards, neck strap, and card case.

IDOLM@STER Million Live! is a spin-off series of the Idolmaster game, which was first released in 2013. The series follows a new group of idols working alongside other idols from 765 Productions with a producer from the 765 Theater Agency. Bandai Namco Studios released the original Idolmaster game on February 27, 2013, and the Live! Theater Days version on June 29, 2017 for Android and iOS platforms. The original game ended service on March 18, 2018, leaving Theater Days as the main game.

The Idolmaster game was a free-to-play idol-raising simulator. The player, who was the producer, trained idols and sent them to work in various locations while making the idols at 765 Production Theater bigger. Idols were obtained through collecting cards ranked by rarity, and were divided into three categories: vocal, dance, and visual. A fourth category, Ex, was reserved for special cards. Idolmaster Live! Theater Days Periodically released story missions and communication events with the idols, and many cards from the original game were reused in Theater Days.

The anime will follow the growth of Mirai Kasuga and other idols in the theater. It will be directed by Shinya Watada and written by Yoichi Kato. Bandai Namco Studio is collaborating on the anime, while Bandai Namco Entertainment is producing the anime.
