Only almost three years later.
The OVA for My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax is finally here. Years later, we have a date. MAGES began streaming the promotional video for the new original video anime, better known as OVA, on Friday. Along with the video, it was announced that the OVA will be bundled on Blu-ray Disc as a bonus with Yahari Game Demo Ore no Sheishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. Kan, the latest game based on Wataru Watari’s light novel series.
Titled, Dakara, Shinshunki wa Owarazu ni, Seishun wa Tsuzuiteiku (Like I Said, Adolescence Will Not End and Youth Will Continue), this OVA has been long anticipated. It was first announced over a year ago, so fans are excited to finally see the video and release date announcement. The first OVA was released in 2013, promptly following the ending of the first season. The second OVA was also released at the conclusion of the second season in 2016. Only the third OVA has come with a very long, three-year waiting period.
The newest promotional video also reveals that the game will be released for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch on April 27 in Japan. This will be the third game for the popular series and will feature an original story with six routes based on players’ decisions. Players can enjoy stories from the anime and light novels centered around six heroines: Yukino Yukinoshita, Saki Kawasaki, Shizuka Hiratsuka, Iroha Isshiki, Saika Totsuka, and Yui Yuigahama.
It’s fitting that the third game and third OVA will be released in 2023, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU’s ten-year anniversary. Since the third and final season ended in 2020, dedicated fans have been hurting for some fresh content. Although the announcement of the 10 projects for the 10th Anniversary surely helped.
However, no new information has been released about the 10th anniversary projects, although that announcement first came on January 3, albeit an announcement with very few details. It seems that the thirst for young love will just have to be quenched through the OVA and/or game coming in April. Thankfully, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU isn’t completely over just yet.
