Before you discard your smudge sticks and use the latest technology in the form of your Night Vision Goggles, you must take a couple of things into consideration. Like any other piece of gear in Phasmophobia, the Night Vision Goggles are available to pick up at the Safe House. However, these goggles are Tier 3 Head Gear, meaning that you will need to be at level 82+ to be able to use them. If you are just starting up your ghost-hunting endeavor, then come back later once you meet the requirements.

To pick up the Night Vision Googles, you will only need to click the “E” button. To equip them, press the “T” button. Once you have them equipped, you will be able to see in the dark with the classic green color. This is particularly useful in situations where there is limited lighting or flashlights are disabled. These goggles will help you circumvent this issue, but it will create a new one.

While these will help you out traversing dark areas, the Night Vision Googles also attract Ghosts like light attracts flies. This means, of course, that you will probably die – and get massively scared -, so once you begin your ghost hunt, simply remove them by pressing “T” once again.

Personally, getting scared by horror video games is a trait that I’ve had since the beginning of time, so something like the Night Vision Goggles – if used correctly – is something I appreciate greatly. Be sure to learn how to use them in Phasmophobia since they are incredibly helpful. Just don’t get overly excited and bring other equipment to complement them like Sanity Pils, a Thermometer, and even Salt.
