The Tower of Trials lets you earn unique rewards in Fire Emblem Engage. Here’s how to unlock it.
Quick Links
After you’ve spent a few hours learning the ropes in Fire Emblem Engage, you’ll quickly realize how much there is to do in this game. Aside from the main story, there are optional battles you can do from the World Map, and a variety of activities to partake in at your home base, Somniel.
To avoid overwhelming you with too much all at once, the game slowly introduces you to new features as you progress through the main story. One of the most entertaining features you’ll unlock is the Tower of Trials. This is a great place to earn unique rewards and will keep you coming back long after the main story is over. Here’s how to unlock the Tower of Trials, and how it works.
How To Unlock The Tower Of Trials
The early chapters of the game have you set out to visit each nation and acquire their designated Emblem Rings. In Chapter 6: The Stolen Ring, you’ll find yourself navigating through the dark woods, teeming with enemies waiting to attack you from the shadows. After lighting some torches and finding your way through the woods, you’ll eventually find Emblem Micaiah’s ring and create a bond with her.
After completing the chapter, head back to Somniel and visit the Tower of Trials. Although there is no big announcement when it unlocks, you will now be able to access it moving forward. Before heading to the tower, make sure to stop at the newly unlocked Records Hall. Here you can adjust your online settings and player card, both of which are important for using the Tower of Trials.
Trial Types
There are a total of three types of trials you can take on once you’ve unlocked the tower. The Tempest Trial pits you against several waves of enemies in a series of consecutive battles. The higher the difficulty you choose, the greater the rewards. The rewards you get here cannot be found elsewhere in the game and are important for augmenting your Emblem Weapons.
The second trial is a Relay Trial. This time, you’ll team up with other players online and take on enemies in a cooperative mode. Essentially, you’ll take turns battling the NPC enemies and share in the spoils of war. You’ll need relay tickets for each battle, and you can acquire one per day each time you visit Somniel.
The third trial is the Outrealm Trial. This trial type is also online, but instead of playing cooperatively with other players, you’ll face off against them. In this mode, you can play on premade maps, or make custom edits as you see fit. Regardless of which trial type you choose, your items and army will be restored at the end of the trial, so there is no risk of going all out.
