Fire Emblem Engage wants you to steal sheep. Here’s how to do it.
In Fire Emblem Engage, when you aren’t battling through waves of enemies, you’ll spend your time on various activities in Somniel, your home base. While some activities require a more hands-on approach, like fishing and training, the Stable is a feature you’ll be able to manage passively.
When you first wander over to the Farmyard, you’ll notice that the Stable is not immediately accessible. It, like many of the features in Somniel, can only be unlocked after putting in some play-time. Here’s how to unlock the Stable, and how to use it.
How To Unlock The Stable
Accessing the Stable is relatively easy since it is one of the earliest features you unlock in Somniel. While it might not be the most exciting feature, it is a great way to passively acquire ingredients you’ll use when cooking meals each day or materials needed for upgrading weapons.
To unlock the Stable, you’ll first need to complete Chapter 4: A Land In Bloom. In this chapter, you save a village from being attacked. After the battle, you are able to walk around the area and will naturally find a dog and a sheep. Select them by using A, and you’ll be able to adopt them. Oddly enough, you don’t need to ask for permission before adopting this village’s animals, which makes it feel akin to stealing. Regardless of the ethics, if you see a stray animal, it’s going to be coming home with you. And once you have stolen your first animals, the Stable will be usable when you head back to Somniel.
How To Use The Stable
As you are getting your feet wet with Fire Emblem Engage, you are quickly introduced to a plethora of features and mechanics that can be a little overwhelming at first. Luckily, the Stable is one of the easiest to digest and manage, which saves you time to focus on the more interesting parts of the game.
To access the Stable, head to the Farmyard and approach the Stable door. Click A, and you’ll be brought to a menu that shows all of your adopted animals you can set out to graze. Once you have selected the five animals, they’ll be in the Farmyard moving forward. As you take on new missions and return to Somniel, these animals will leave various items on the ground for you to collect. For example, a sheep gives milk, dogs provide different types of metals, and birds provide eggs or nuts.
It is possible to have multiples of the same animal out at once, but it is better to diversify them as they’ll each bring you something unique. As you progress through the game, you’ll have the option to donate funds to the nations you are working with. Doing so allows you to adopt new kinds of animals, each of which brings more unique items for you to collect.
