Destiny 2 has received another trailer for its Lightfall expansion, showcasing a set of new exotics that will help players stand against Calus’s invasion. Also on display are the new strand tangles that can be used by players.
With Destiny 2: Lightfall just under a month from release, more information about the content coming in the expansion has been revealed via a short gameplay trailer, featuring a few scenes of players fighting invaders with new weapons and armor. It showcases some exotic gear for the strand class, such as final warning, deterministic chaos, winterbite, and abeyat leap titan boots. Each exotic has a unique effect that can change the course of combat, including the quicksilver storm catalyst upgrade that allows the exotic auto rifle’s grenade kills to create tangles that can then in turn be thrown at enemies.
The final warning is the strand’s sidearm which shoots tracking rounds that target nearby enemies. Deterministic Chaos automatically weakens enemies to be effective in long-running combat, which applies a weaken debuff and volatile effect as it fires. Next, winterbite is an exotic glaive that freezes enemies with frost orbs, leaving them vulnerable to follow-up attacks from another exotic weapon.
There are also three exotic armors, abeyant leap, swarmers, and cyrtarachne’s façade. Abeyant Leap allows players to gain an armor boost and fire three waves of projectiles by casting their barricade. Cyrtarachne’s façade gives extra protection as Hunters flinch resistance when they grapple. Lastly, swarmers are an exotic leg armor that allows warlocks to create a threadling infest after destroying a tangle.
Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion will take players to a new cyberpunk showdown, Neomuna. This destination is replete with futuristic buildings and landscapes. The Lightfall DLC will be available to download on February 28, 2023.
