We have seen Denji killing Devils before, but we hadn’t seen the extent of his insanity until we saw him fighting the Eternity Devil. Denji quickly figures out that the Devil fears his chainsaws, which is why he wants others to offer Chainsaw Devil’s heart to him. Despite not knowing the location of Eternity Devil’s heart, Denji decides to inflict so much pain on him that he is left with no choice but to offer his heart himself and asks for his death. Now the Devil Hunters’ search for the Gun Devil will continue with the next episode.
Last Time on Chainsaw Man…
The episode started with Denji fighting the Eternity Devil, continuously tearing apart his body, while the latter regenerates continuously. The Eternity Devil also puts damage on Denji, but he continuously regenerates his body by drinking the Devil’s blood. Himeno gets excited to see Denji’s insanity and remembers the time when she visited her team members’ graves, where Kishibe told him how the sane-minded Devil Hunters are not able to live long. On the other hand, he said that the Devil Hunters with a loose screw are the ones that the Devils fear the most.
Kishibe asked Himeno about Aki’s personality, to which she replies that all he wants is to kill the Gun Devil. Later, she met Aki in a restaurant and asked if he would love to join her in the private sector, which he refuses. She then wondered if he would ever be able to kill the Gun Devil as he is normal like other people.
In the present, Denji is continuously fighting the Devil. Himeno visits Aki and informs him that it has been three straight days since the two started fighting. Finally, the Eternity Devil is unable the bear the pain Denji has been doling out, and he offers his heart to him. Denji slashes his heart and finally comes out of the hotel.
The Devil Hunters visit a restaurant to enjoy and meet new recruits. Himeno is reminded of her promise about kissing the one who kills the Devil, after which she kisses Denji, but his first kiss is ruined after she throws up in his mouth. Denji passes out and finds himself in Himeno’s house when he wakes up. At the end of the episode, Himeno asks Denji to get intimate.
