After mistakenly unleashing Adriel on Earth, Ava spends several months in hiding along with Beatrice. Ava tries her best to lie low and not care about what’s happening to the rest of the world, but her destiny eventually catches up to her.

Adriel, an all-powerful entity from a different realm, wishes to announce himself as an Angel of God to the entire world. For that, he needs Duretti’s support. Adriel infiltrates the church in the Vatican with his supporters and tries his best to force the church to do his bidding. However, the Pope announces Adriel as a spawn of the Devil, and Duretti’s betrayal leads to his death on live television.

Michael Sacrificing His Life For Nothing

The Pope’s death forces Ava to go against Adriel without taking any help from the other Sisters. However, she does take Michael’s (Miguel) help to defeat the enemy. Apparently, Michael spent 15 years in Adriel’s realm training with Reya, the Goddess of the other realm. Reya knew that no power on Earth could defeat Adriel, so she sent something from her realm to defeat the monster. Reya implanted Divinium in Michael’s body, making him a human bomb. Michael then asks Ava to target the Halo’s power in his body to trigger the bomb, but only when Adriel is close by, as the Divinium blast is the only thing capable of killing the false Angel.

Of course, things didn’t go as the duo planned, as Lilith killed Michael in the blink of an eye by ripping out his heart. Even then, Ava wanted Michael’s death to mean something, so she triggered the bomb in Michael’s dead body to kill Adriel. But, as expected, Adriel survives the blast, possibly because the Divinium in Michael’s body became less effective after his death.

Lilith Embracing Her Demonic Side

Lilith in Warrior Nun

Lilith wasn’t likable in the first season, and she wasn’t much different in Season 2. After finally accepting that she isn’t worthy of Halo, Lilith goes to Adriel to get some answers. In the previous season, Lilith vanished into a portal with a Tarask, the demonic soldier from Adriel’s realm. Fortunately, she returned to Earth with all her body parts intact, but something truly bad had happened to her. Coming in contact with a Tarask changed something in Lilith, and her body started to become demonic.

A black substance starts developing on her skin, making her look like a Tarask. So, it’s understandable why she was desperate to figure out what was happening to her. However, Adriel takes advantage of Lilith’s vulnerability and uses his powers to bring out her demonic nature. For the rest of the season, Lilith becomes faithful to Adriel and doesn’t even flinch before killing Michael. However, Adriel’s death brought Lilith back to her senses, as she was no longer being influenced by Adriel’s powers. In the end, she offers her help to Beatrice by suggesting a way to save Ava. Of course, that isn’t enough to undo the damage she has done, but it’s a start.

Ava’s Chance To Explore Adriel’s Realm

Ava in Warrior Nun Season 2

Adriel, after Michael’s death, uses his demons and the Crown of Thorns to trap Reya. He wants to become God, but for that, he first needs to imprison the only entity that’s more powerful than him: Reya.

Adriel used his demons to weaken Reya, but before he could put the crown on Reya’s head, Ava used the Halo to bring several Tarasks to Earth. Well, the demonic soldiers did their job, and they killed Adriel in a brutal fashion. Reya then uses the Arc to leave Earth with her soldiers, but the story doesn’t end there. Unfortunately, after blasting Michael’s body with the power of the Halo, Ava got stabbed by some pieces of the Divinium.

Since Divinium is an element from another realm, there is no way of treating Ava’s injuries on Earth. Lilith suggests that Ava should use the Arc to travel to Adriel’s realm, where Reya might be able to help her. Reya previously treated Michael’s sickness (only to let him die as a suicide bomber), so she can very well do the same for the Halo Bearer who saved her from Adriel.

Honestly, traveling to another realm seems the right step for Ava’s character. Adriel’s dead, so the show has to up its game for the next season, and opening the doors to Adriel’s realm is the best way to do that. Also, let’s not forget that Adriel referred to Reya as the “Devour of the Worlds,” who thinks of Earth as “Primitive” and disposable. So, there’s a chance that Reya will turn out as the next villain for the TV show if, of course, Netflix decides to renew it for another season.
