The Halo TV show is free on YouTube ahead of its season 2 release

Paramount Plus’ Halo isn’t exactly anyone’s idea of the perfect version of the Halo universe. Despite all the ways that Paramount has insisted the show’s first season, which debuted in 2022, was a success, it didn’t exactly take over pop culture the way the Paramount and Xbox probably wanted. But with season 2 on the way, the streaming service has a new plan to get people to watch season 1: make it free on YouTube.

That’s right, all nine episodes of the Halo show are now free to stream. Getting more people onboard and excited for the show’s upcoming second season is probably the only way Halo comes back for a third. On the other hand, bringing shows to infinitely more popular platforms is starting to become a regular strategy for streaming services, with things like Disney bringing Ms. Marvel to ABC, or even Paramount Plus itself dumping its fantastic esports mockumentary Players on YouTube before it vanished it from existence.

While we haven’t heard much about Halo’s second season just yet, we do know its release date: Feb. 8. On top of that, the series could appear at the Dec. 2 Paramount Plus panel at this year’s CCXP convention in Brazil, and seems like a strong contender to appear at The Game Awards on Dec. 7.
