The Fallout TV show is premiering a day earlier than expected – and a second season is already likely

The Fallout TV show is apparently already angling for a second season, even before its first officially premieres.

The news comes via a Variety report from last night, which first noticed the California Film Commission announcement that it’s earmarked $152M in tax incentives to multiple TV shows, including another season of Fallout. Variety notes that California uses these incentives to entice productions in other states to film in California; Fallout filmed its first season in New York and Utah. The tax incentive doesn’t guarantee a second season, but it sure does look likely.

Amazon did announce last night that it’s bumped up the premiere; it’ll now launch at 9 p.m. EDT tomorrow night – April 10th instead of April 11th.

“Prime Video announced that the upcoming post-apocalyptic series Fallout, based on the immensely popular retro-futuristic video game franchise, will premiere all eight episodes early at 6 p.m. PT on April 10. The surprise drop was revealed in a new Fallout commercial that aired during Monday’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Game. The Ghoul himself then confirmed the news, with series star Walton Goggins encouraging fans to watch the series early in a video shared on social media. The special release includes a live global fan premiere of the first episode on April 10 at 6 p.m. PT on Prime Video, where fans worldwide can choose their faction and interact with others via a live chat function filled with surprises. The full season will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.”
