Another Resurrected Marvel Character To Star In Disney+ Series, As Vision Moves Ahead

WandaVision brought Paul Bettany’s Vision back to life after his death in Avengers: Infinity War, but he was noticeably absent from the Scarlet Witch’s alternate realities in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, Bettany will finally reprise his role in an upcoming Vision series on Disney+.

Via The Hollywood Reporter, Star Trek: Picard Season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas has signed on to serve in the same role for the Vision series. The first reports about Vision’s solo show emerged in 2022, with a rumored title, Vision Quest. The writers room for the series reportedly opened this week, but any additional scribes for the series have not been announced.

As seen in WandaVision, the Vision that Wanda had a marriage and children with was a magical construct that she conjured in his image. The body of the real Vision was completely inert until S.W.O.R.D. used Wanda’s own excess power to resurrect him without any of his memories. This White Vision clashed with his magical counterpart until he allowed the latter to restore his missing memories. But instead of reuniting with Wanda, the White Vision took off for parts unknown and he hasn’t been seen since.

The Vision series is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2026, following the other upcoming Marvel shows including Agatha All Along, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, and Wonder Man. But there’s no word about whether Elizabeth Olsen will return to portray Wanda Maximoff again. At the climax of The Multiverse of Madness, Wanda seemingly sacrificed herself to destroy the evil magic of the Darkhold. But in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, death isn’t necessarily always the end of the story. Loki was another victim of Thanos in Infinity War, and one of his variants already got a second chance at life in the Loki series. Perhaps Wanda will as well.
