Tessia has been urging her grandfather to allow her to be a part of the upcoming war, and although it has been hard for Virion to make the decision, he has finally allowed her to participate. However, Virion makes her perfectly aware of the rules she has to follow if she is going to take part in the battle. Virion then visits Cynthia, who has been resting due to her illness, and the former shares his guilt for being the reason for her detrimental state. It has been a few chapters since we last saw Arthur, and it looks like it’s finally time to catch up with our young boy in his training.

Tessia is happy to know that she can be a part of the battle, but Virion is concerned, so he puts a few conditions in place. The conditions include taking content from her parents and not being a liability to others in the war, as if that happens, she would be removed immediately. Lastly, he instructs her not to get caught in a situation where she has to use her second phase as she hasn’t learned how to control it properly.
As Tessia is about to leave, Virion stops her and says that the decisions he made for her had always been for her safety and happiness, but now that she is a soldier, he has to take the decision concerning the whole of Decathen, instead of just keeping her in mind. Tessia agrees to all the conditions and leaves. Virion then visits Cynthia, and her caretaker Anna says that the medicines are keeping her in great shape, but they are unable to wake her up.
Virion sits beside Cynthia and tells her about the Alacryan army’s capability of making large steamships. He then tells her about his decision to allow Tessia to participate in the war. But then shares his concerns regarding how he lost his wife and how he does not want the same thing to happen to his children and granddaughter. He then apologizes to Cynthia and says that he knew she might have died after revealing information about Alacrya and Vritra, but he still didn’t stop her from doing so just to gain the upper hand in the war.
He then remembers their time together when they were young and shows his trust in Cynthia by saying that people might consider her a spy, but he will always trust her. Virion is about to leave and promises that after the war is over, he will come back and do everything to wake her up.
