Tears Of The Kingdom Collector’s Edition Seemingly Confirms Leaked OLED Switch

The matching symbol can’t be a coincidence…

About a month ago, numerous images of a supposed unannounced Tears of the Kingdom-themed OLED Nintendo Switch were making the rounds, and though it looked quite elaborate and realistic, there was really no way to confirm its veracity; the game’s newly revealed collector’s edition, however, has given this OLED model leak a new surge of credibility.

As apparently first spotted by Twitter user Nintendeal, the Joy-Cons of the alleged themed Switch each have a symbol towards the bottom of them; you’ll find it much more visible on the left Joy-Con due to its green-on-gold coloring. This symbol, which looks like a pair of eyes with an extravagant headdress atop it, didn’t really draw much attention when this leak first occurred, as it had no discernable connection to the Zelda universe. That is no longer the case.

The game’s Collector’s Edition was revealed following the game’s most recent trailer, and its various goodies were shown off as well. It will come with a steel book case, a large steel poster, an art book, and finally, a pin set. The pin set is the most relevant to this story, as seen clearly in this Nintendo UK trailer, the pin set will come in a box, nd what’s plastered in the center of that box but the exact same symbol as the one seen on the leaked Joy-Cons.

Tears Of The Kingdom Symbol

We still need to keep in mind that nothing is truly certain until Nintendo confirms it, but this does significantly raise the likelihood of the Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED model being real. The only other possibility is that some insider got a look at this unique symbol and replicated it in this supremely elaborate falsification.

Special edition Switch models have been quite commonplace throughout the console’s history. We’ve seen them for Mario, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and most recently for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, so Tears of the Kingdom, one of the Switch’s most anticipated titles ever, having its own model would follow an observable pattern from Nintendo. The game is only three months away now, so, if true, we’ll probably be hearing about this console sooner rather than later.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on May 12.
