Spy Classroom TV Anime Releases Character Visual For Erna

Spy Classroom just added another character named Erna, a quiet but smart girl who became a spy after she lost her parents.


Spy Classroom has introduced a new character named Erna, who appeared in the latest episode of the anime. The official Twitter account of Spy Classroom recently shared a character visual for the quiet girl as the latest addition to the characters of the series. Aside from the character trailer and visuals, Spy Classroom’s key visuals were also updated to mirror the latest development in the series.


Following Erna’s appearance on the third episode of the series, Spy Classroom released a character visual and trailer for the young girl. Seiyu Award winner Inori Minase will be voicing the character which will add to her laundry list of anime projects. Minase is one of the leading female voice actresses in Japan and has starred in some high-profile series such as Re: Zero, Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon?, and The Quintessential Quintuplets.

So far, the character trailers have been released for Monika, Thea, Grete, Sybilla, Lily, Sara, Annette and now Erna. The main characters in the anime series include Aoi Yuki as Monika, Sumire Uesaka as Thea, Miku Ito as Grete, Nao Toyama as Sybilla, Sora Amamiya as Lily, Ayane Sakura as Sara, and Tomori Kusunoki as Annette.

Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU director Keiichiro Kawaguchi is also the director behind the anime adaptation at Studio feel. Shinichi Inozume is in charge of the series’ composition with Sumie Kinoshita working on the anime’s character designs.

Spy Classroom Anime is based on the light novel series of the same name that was written by Takemachi and illustrated by Tomari. It was first published through the Fujimi Shobo in 2020 and has published a total of 7 volumes since. The 8th volume is set to be released this coming July 20. New York-based manga and graphic novel publisher Yen Press also started releasing the English version of the series in 2021 and is also set to release the 4th volume this September.

Spy Classroom has since spun a plethora of adaptations including two short stories and three manga adaptations. A manga adaptation by Kaname Seu is currently in-progress through Media Factory’s Comic Alive magazine.
