Anime fans with a taste in romance and comedy series already know about Rent-A-Girlfriend. Based on a manga by Reiji Miyajima, Rent-A-Girlfriend started its serialization in July 2017, and in no time, it became more popular than expected. Currently, the manga is running on its 26th volume and is gaining popularity around the world. It got even more appreciation after its first season got out in July 2020.

Shortly before the finale of Rent-A-Girlfriend season 1, its sequel was greenlit. And now, almost two years after the release of season one, it’s almost time for season two arrival.

Season 2 of Rent-A-Girlfriend will release on Friday, July 1st, 2022, at 11:30 AM PT (Pacific Time.) People in Japan can watch the show on multiple local networks, including ABC and TV Asahi, while for international fans, the show is licensed by Crunchyroll. Only the first episode will release this Friday, and then continue to release a single episode every week. What Is Rent-A-Girlfriend About?

The show is about a young boy named Kazuya Kinoshita who gets dumped by his girlfriend after dating her for a month. He then decides to use an online dating app and rent a beautiful girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara. Japan is weird, right! You can actually rent a girlfriend, dad, or a mom there. Anyways, the story takes a twist when Kazuya figures out that Chizuru goes to her college, as well as she is his neighbor. Slowly, a beautiful and romantic story starts to build between them.
