Gearbox has announced the sequel to 2019’s Remnant: From The Ashes, Remnant 2, during The Game Awards 2022. A short teaser trailer for the sequel gives players their first look at the upcoming action RPG, which is being developed by the same team behind its predecessor, Gunfire Games, and will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2023.
Remnant 2 will offer an expanded archetype class system and a wider array of guns, armor, and special augmentations compared to its predecessor. The co-op survival shooter encourages replayability and exploration in a dynamically generated world packed with environmental hazards and branching quest lines. Remnant 2 takes players to a devastated world where they must combine melee and ranged combat against vicious enemies and bosses. Players can dive into the fray either solo or with other two friends to overcome challenges.
Gunfire Games stated that each time players start a new playthrough, they will encounter a unique world built from new locations, enemies, NPCs, bosses, and weapons. This also increases replayability by creating new experiences in which players can utilize upgrades and items to complete tougher challenges.
Players will unlock multiple archetypes with passive abilities and powers, as they will upgrade them to use in sync with their friends. The developer team assured players that they will feel challenging, varied, and rewarding while exploring the game’s post-apocalyptic world filled with mythical creatures and deadly foes.
