Prue Leith accidentally embarrassed Matt Tebbutt as she hit out at the style of cookbooks he was guilty of using. The Bake Off judge was a guest in an A-list line-up on Saturday Kitchen alongside composer Gareth Malone and world-renowned chef Yotam Ottolenghi.
Saturday Kitchen is famed for its often awkward conversations between Matt Tebbutt and his celebrity guests.
This week’s instalment was no different as the guests on the show discussed the new book from trailblazing chef Yotam Ottolenghi.
Matt held the stylish, plain cover of Ottolenghi Test Kitchen: Extra Good Things in his hand and praised its simplicity.
Prue remarked: “You’re right about the style because I am so tired of cookbooks where the front cover is always a cheesy picture of somebody, of the author holding the book.”

The crew in the studio were in hysterics off-camera and a red-faced Matt held his hand up to suggest he was guilty.
Prue added: “Has yours got one of them?”, to which Matt replied: “Yes of course.”
The Bake Off star sought to ease the pain she caused the host, admitting: “Well, I have lots of cookbooks that do that”
She continued: “I just love the fact that Yotam is brave enough to just have a good design and forget the cheesy picture.”
The show kicked off in an even more awkward fashion this week, but this time before Saturday Kitchen had even started.
During the link between Charlie Stayt, Naga Munchetty and Matt Tebbutt, the BBC Breakfast presenters poked fun at the conversation the host was conducting.
While chatting to drinks expert Olly Smith and Gareth Malone, Charlie observed them discussing their favourite celebrity Matts.
He asked: “Thanks Matt, do you want a bit more time, does that make it more awkward?”
Matt jokingly retorted: “It’s not awkward, it’s a very relaxed vibe over here”, to which Charlie remarked: “I thought it was all feeling a little bit awkward I don’t know how it is over there.”
The confused host then remarked: “Have you lost an item because you seem to be filling?”
Naga decided to interject and shut Matt down, announcing: “No actually we’re being told off in our ears to move on, so enough of you, thanks!”
Charlie turned to his smirking co-host and asked: “Has he gone?”, and Naga added: “He’s gone”, to bring the hilarious exchange to a close.
