Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s next Tera Raid event has been announced, bringing one of the rarest Pokémon available in the game, Greninja, to the event. The elusive water type will appear in black crystal Tera Battles between January 27 and January 29, and then again between February 10 and 12. Similar to previous events that were held for Cinderace and Charizard, players will only be able to catch Greninja once per saved data.

With the Mightiest Mark and Poison Tera Type, Greninja will make its way to Paldea with a new raid event, running from January 27, at 00:00 UTC to January 29, at 23:59 UTC local time. However, this won’t be the only period during which players can attempt to catch Greninja, as a returning event is scheduled to take place between February 10, at 00:00 UTC, and February 12, 23: 59 UTC. In case you’re not aware, Greninja can not normally be encountered in the wild like other 7-star Pokemon Cinderace, it only appears during different types of Tera Raid Battles.

This event having poison as its Tera Type makes Greninja formidable to catch, requiring players to work together to get the drop on the Pokémon with the Mightiest Mark. Greninja can be caught in the wild only once, though, players can continue to participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Pokémon to earn other rewards. Furthermore, the event features Greninja’s allies Bronzong and Lucario in 4-star and 5-star Tera Raid Battles.

Players can use Bronzong and Lucario, both of which will have a different Tera Type, in their Pokédex against Greninja during the event. Note that it will have the same abilities and moves regardless of when it is caught.

In other Pokémon Scarlet and Violet news, Game Freak has confirmed that the game will receive a software update in late February to address some bug fixes and performance issues. An exact release date for the upcoming overhaul has not been given yet.
