One Piece Chapter 1072 Spoilers

The upcoming chapter is titled “The Weight of Memories,” and it starts with a narration from Vegapunk’s journal during MADS time. He said that even if the world doesn’t accept her, he still views her as a human, and their experiment will be the first step toward peace. In the meantime, Bonney turns herself into a kid and pretends to cry to attract Vegapunk closer to her. As expected, he comes close to Bonney, and she suddenly changes herself into an adult, muscular lady. It seems like Bonney’s powers can turn her or others into different versions of themselves.

Bonney then knocks Vegapunk’s ages out of him in the form of sparkling jewels, after which she turns Vegapunk into a baby who can still talk. That’s maybe because of his genius mind. Vegapunk looks surprised to see that the sparkling jewels are his age. He then reveals that he can’t tell her why he turned Kuma, as the truth will cause her (Bonney) a great deal of pain. And that’s the reason why he promised Kuma that he would keep it a secret.

Bonney notices a bear paw at the door of the room, and she approaches the door and breaks the lock by aging it. We then see a flashback between Vegapunk and Kuma, where we see the latter wearing a white gown similar to a patient, and he isn’t wearing a hat, showing his hair and glasses. Vegapunk tells Kuma that a scientist in the West Blue discovered that a human weighs 21 grams less after they die, implying the soul weighs 21 grams.

Vegapunk then explains Kuma’s “Nikyu Nikyu no Mi” ability, which could turn intangible things into tangible ones. For instance, Kuma could turn pain, thoughts, or memories into a substance by turning nerve signals into tangible energy that he can push out of the body. Vegapunk wanted Kuma to bring out his own memories as he wanted to know the weight and size of it. And while Kuma didn’t want to do it, Vegapunk requested him to do it for the sake of science.

The scene now cuts to the present, where Bonney enters the room with a bear paw at the door. She witnesses a bear paw-shaped energy in the room. At the same time, a scene from the Red Port is shown where we see the real Kuma trying to climb the Red Line, but the Marines shoot him down. Meanwhile, Bonney is about to touch the energy, but Vegapunk stops her and says that this energy is Kuma’s pain. She replies that she knows her father’s abilities, and this is not his pain; instead, these are his memories.

Now the scene cuts to Zoro and Kaku, who are still fighting, and the latter uses his awakened form, similar to Lucci’s. Kaku’s Human-Beast form has dark flame hair, and dark fire wraps around his shoulders. He uses some old attacks with some new ones, most notably “Kyoku Bigan Kirimangyro.” But despite everything, Zoro still overpowers him, while Brook protects the Thousand Sunny.

It is revealed that four Seraphim came to Labo despite receiving any orders, and their personalities allow them to make their own decisions according to the battle situations, resulting in them coming to assist CPO. However, CPO doesn’t want it, as Vegapunk still holds a higher position than them. Edison and Lilith try to take back Seraphim, while Sanji and Franky assist Zoro and Brook. Luffy and the other Straw Hat members stay at the lab.

4 Seraphim starts destroying Labo on Lucci’s orders, and suddenly Kaku’s neck is bitten by someone, after which he falls asleep. It turns out that Stussy is the one to bite him, and she is revealed to have vampire-like wings. Stussy is actually the clone of Ms. Buckingham Stussy, one of the Rock Pirate members. She is revealed to be the first successful human clone by MADS. At the end of the chapter, Stussy says that “I just made Kaku go to sleep, Lucci, and now I need you to sleep as well.”
