In Octopath Traveler 2, players can complete a variety of side stories. Those looking to make the most out of the game and see as much of its world as possible will want to complete all of them. This is our guide on how to complete the ‘My Beloved Catharine’ side story in Octopath Traveler 2.

How to complete My Beloved Catharine in Octopath Traveler 2
You can begin My Beloved Catharine by speaking to the Haggard Man in Clockbank. He can be found just west of Clockbank’s entrance gazing out over the nearby river. Speaking to him will reveal that his love named Catharine has left him and he feels hopeless without her. It’s on you to reunite the two and help them make up.
There are some hints about Catharine’s identity and how she probably isn’t what you expect her to be. Although the Haggard Man’s manner of speech suggests it’s his girlfriend or wife who has left, the love of his life is actually his dear cat, Catharine. To complete My Beloved Catharine in Octopath Traveler 2, you need to reunite the Haggard Man with Catharine the cat.

To reunite the two, first recruit the Haggard Man using one of Agnea’s Allure, Ochette’s Befriend, Temenos’ Guide, or Partitio’s Hire Path Action. With the Haggard Man recruited, head north up both pairs of stairs to reach Clockbank: Industrial District. In the Industrial District, go to the top left corner where you’ll find a Lonesome Cat.
Finally, interact with the Lonesome Cat and a cutscene will automatically play. It turns out that this cat is actually Catharine and the Haggard Man will be overjoyed to have found her. Once the cutscene ends, you will have completed My Beloved Catharine in Octopath Traveler 2. The reward for completing this side story is 12,000 Leaves and x1 Cait Powder which is an important accessory for Cait farming.
