What’s new on the Nintendo Switch this week? With Christmas slowly creeping up on us all, the big releases are starting to fade away while we’re all consumed by the never-ending festive sales. But what’s new on the eShop?
As the 2022 World Cup is still on, it’s only natural that we see a few footy games release to capitalize on the surrounding hype. Sadly, the good ones are few and far between, and this week’s Football Kicks doesn’t look like it’ll be the game to inspire a generation to get outside and hoof a ball around.
Kardboard King: Card Shop Simulator is another odd little simulator, but rather than having players tend to the acres, power clean a driveway, or mow a lawn, it tasks players with running their own card shop business. You’ll take on a struggling shop by the seaside and turn it into the go-to place for fans of card games. If you like business sims and you’re a fan of card games, it’s the perfect match, no?
The real highlight this week will come in the form of some new tracks for the ever-popular Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The family-friendly kart racer will get its third wave of new tracks this week on Wednesday, December 7. The Booster Course Wave 3 pack will drop a further eight new tracks from past Mario Kart games, as well as the more recent Mario Kart Tour. For those with the complete pass, these new tracks will be automatically opened. There’s more to come, too, as this is the third of six planned packs, with the rest set to follow before the end of 2023.
Bear in mind that the list below may not be final. Smaller indie games have a tendency to creep up and release without much fanfare, so if there are any late additions, we’ll update this article.
