The Necrom expansion introduces a new Arcanist class, zones, companions, and an all-new story.
Developer ZeniMax Online Studios and publisher Bethesda Softworks have announced that The Elder Scrolls Online will receive a new expansion, titled Necrom, which introduces the Arcanist class, all-new zones, a new story, as well as Warden and Arcanist class companions. It will launch for PC on June 5, followed by Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on June 20.
During today’s Xbox & Bethesda developer direct, Zenimax Online Studios has revealed the Necrom expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online, the next big chapter for the multiplayer RPG that further expands the Shadow Over Morrowind adventure with a catalog of new playable content.
The Arcanist is the next playable class that will be introduced with the Necrom expansion, capable of destructive, restorative, and defensive magic by utilizing the arcane, runes, and tomes of power. Going into more detail, the Arcanist allows players to master three skill lines, Herald of Tome, Curative Runeforms, and Apocryphal Soldier, each drawing from Oblivion to help players absorb punishment, deal damage, and back up allies. Players can call upon Runeblades as an Arcanist to launch projectiles on their foes and summon a portal to assist their teammates’ mobility. Furthermore, the Arcanist introduces a new Crux system, which allows players to use Arcanist abilities to generate a new resource called Crux that can be consumed to empower other abilities.
The Necrom DLC takes players to two new zones, Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha, where players can explore arcane magic and the capital city of Necrom to strengthen themselves and interact with other characters. Both zones feature their own set of quests, challenges, NPCs, public dungeons, and world bosses, plus a trial and all-new world events. Players will earn achievements, titles, items, and collectibles by completing challenges that can be found in Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha. The upcoming DLC also introduces a new story revolving around The Prince of Fate that holds secrets too dangerous for mortals.
Players who pre-order The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Necrom or The Elder Scrolls Online Deluxe Collection: Necrom will receive instant access to all major Chapter zones, biomes, and quest arcs.
