Sukuna in Megumi’s body had been chaos for the others for the past few chapters. Previously, the King of Curses completed the bath ritual, after which he battled Ryu and ultimately killed him. The chapter ended with an encounter between Sukuna and Yorozu, and now, the upcoming chapter will see the two battling against each other. The spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 217 have also been released, and they reveal Yoruzu’s extreme desire to battle Sukuna, despite loving him.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 216 Recap
The chapter started with Uraume asking Kenjaku why he wasn’t finishing the Culling Game, to which he replied that he was interested in the bath ritual first. She then explained that the bath ritual was important for turning a vessel that is considered a family treasure into a cursed tool so that it could be protected from external threats. Telling more about the ritual, Uraume revealed that the vessel needed to be soaked into the solution made with Cursed Energy obtained by crushing some selected poisonous creatures for ten months and ten days.
Kenjaku asked Uraume what the point of the ritual was, and she replied that it was important to get close to the evil and to push Megumi’s soul into deeper depths. We then saw Sukuna, who came out of the solution, completing the bath ritual. Sukuna decided to fight Yorozu, and Kenjaku couldn’t find a valid reason why Sukuna would do so. Sukuna then explained that he doesn’t care about Yorozu; however, her vessel, that is, Tsumiki Fushiguro, is the one that matters.
Killing Yorozu would also kill Tsumiki, which would be essential to devastate Megumi, and as a result, Megumi will sink completely inside him. The scene then shifted to Sendai Colony, where we saw Ryu and Uro talking. The latter sensed Sukuna’s presence and stated that the King of Curses had arrived.
Ryu and Sukuna started fighting, and the latter attacked the former. However, Ryu doesn’t get hurt much, and Sukuna apologizes to Ryu for underestimating him. Ryu prepared to attack Sukuna, but the latter moved quickly and sliced Ryu’s face in three pieces, killing him instantly. The episode ended with an encounter between Yorozu and Sukuna.
