Resident Evil 4 Remake has many different weapons for players to choose from when fighting their way through the infected town. Many of these weapons will fit the traditional style being a starting handgun, shotgun, and sub-machine gun, but in this game Leon will quickly be opened up to wielding a much wider arsenal of weapons.

Fairly early into the game, the Rocket Launcher is dangled in front of the player, with you being able to inspect it closer as Leon comments on it. Shortly after that, players will be able to obtain the Rocket Launcher, but only should they see it a good choice.

How To Get The Rocket Launcher

Players are able to obtain the Rocket Launcher during Chapter 4 by purchasing it from the merchant. Finding the merchant for the first time near the docks will let you see the weapon being hung up on a rack, but you cannot purchase it right then and there. You’ll have to proceed a bit further into the chapter, after fueling the boat and killing the Del Largo Lake Monster.

After killing the monster, return to the merchant, who will now be selling a rocket launcher with a single shot for 80,000 Pesetas. This is a very steep price and only provides a single shot, but it can be an incredibly useful backup for players with a bit more cash to throw around. The merchant also has a limited stock of Rocket Launchers, and after one is purchased, you’ll have to wait until you progress further in the game to get another one. It’s also possible to lower the cost of the Rocket Launcher by 20% by wearing the Rocket Launcher charm when purchasing it. This charm is obtained through the Shooting Range challenges, which can be found in the elevator in the same room as the Merchant in Chapter 4 for those looking to get it sooner rather than later.

Using The Rocket Launcher

As 80,000 Pesetas only grants you a single rocket, it’s important to make sure you wait and use it at the right time. This weapon absolutely obliterates regular enemies and would be a waste of money if used on anything smaller than a powerful enemy or boss. Boss fights in the Resident Evil series can be difficult due to the health of the boss and the limited ammo you’ll have for the fight, and the Rocket Launcher quickly fixes that problem.

While these rockets do an incredible amount of damage, it’s also important to make sure you’re out of the blast radius. Getting hit by a rocket is enough to almost take down most bosses and will make even short work of Leon if you don’t aim at a target far enough away.
