This one had me stumped for a while; every time I grabbed that disk, I was pursued until I was dead. However, with a little patience and some unbelievable skill, I figured out how to get past the ghost can and grab the disk in Animal Well.
Swap the disk out
The secret to this puzzle is actually replacing the disk with a fake disk to pacify the ghost cat in Animal Well. This disk can be found slightly later in the level, and it takes some quick fingers to grab it.
The first ghost dogs
First, you will need to head to the left of the ghost cat and solve the puzzle room. Press the three buttons, and then lift the block with the crank to open up the way forward up the ladder. In the next room, you will find a save point, and I suggest you use it.
From here, climb the ladder and use the moving platform to exit the room at the top left. This will place you in the next room with a dog. The ghost dogs in Animal Well will hurt you if they get their teeth into you, so drop down and exit immediately to the bottom right.
Dark rooms
From here, you’ll travel through a series of dark rooms. You can light them up with firecrackers, but you shouldn’t need to for the first few. In the first room, simply head to the left and drop down; in the second, make your way right and, again, drop down. The third room will have a ghost, so those Animal Well firecrackers you picked up on the way will come in useful. Kill the ghost and exit to the left.
You will now find yourself in a room with a crank and a movable block in the far left corner. Climb on top of the block and jump to the right to get onto the platform with the crank. You can use the firecrackers to light the room up if necessary.
The last dogs and Ghost Cat Disk
Another ghost dog will be in the next room in Animal Well. Throw a firecracker in the room, and while the dog is panicking, jump up the platforms on the right. Then, head up the ladder to the next room.
In this room, activate the first switch and make your way across the platforms. Ignore the second switch, but hit the third. This will cause you to drop down a tad. Now, exit to the right, ignoring the last switch.
Head right through a series of tunnels until you finally get to the room with the chest. This chest contains the false disk you need to swap out to escape the ghost cat in Animal Well. Grab it and exit the room to the right.
This final room has a whole new kind of ghost dog that can chase you through tunnels. Be prepared to move quickly. Drop down to the left of the room and navigate the tunnels as fast as you can. If you have a firecracker, it will assist in distracting the dog for a time. Exit the room to the right.
Escape the ghost cat in Animal Well
Now you have finally managed to make your way back to the room with the ghost cat, you can swap out the disk rather than taking it completely. This will pacify the cat and allow you to use the disk to fly over long gaps, and distract the dogs.
