Many legendary armaments are scattered around Elden Ring, each unique and powerful in their own right. Maraias Executioner’s Sword is no exception. The legendary weapon requires 23 Arcane and 14 Dex to wield along with 24 Strength for 1-handed or 16 Strength for 2-handed.
The sword is unique in the sense that it deals both physical and magical damage along with its unique skill, Eochaid’s Dancing Blade. The ability thrusts the blade forward in a piercing spin that annihilates your enemies. If you’re a sword wielder, this is a must-have on your journey to becoming Elden Lord.
Finding The Shaded Castle
First things first, you must make your way to the Shaded Castle where the boss wielding the Maraias Executioner’s Sword is located. Fast travel to the Bridge of Iniquity site of grace found in the northern region of the Altus Plateau. The above image shows its location.
Once you arrive at the bridge of iniquity sight of grace, walk towards the edge of the ravine, and you will see an enormous stone Spire. From here, use Torrent and jump onto the Spire, then jump towards the ridge of the ravine below you, where you’ll land safely. Finally, make your way north to the Shaded Castle.
The Shaded Castle
Once you arrive at the shaded castle, you will want to look for the boss room. This will be where you will retrieve Maraias Executioner Sword. It is advised that you go at your own pace and explore all the nooks and crannies of the castle as it is surprisingly large.
Keep on making your way up through ladders and a variety of roofs in order to reach the boss’s tower. What you are looking for is a large tower with a lift guarded by a tall and formidable enemy. This lift will lead you directly to Elemer of the Briar, the main boss you have to defeat in order to obtain Maraias Executioner’s Sword. As a side note, there is a mini-boss on the castle’s outskirts that you can fight to collect some additional goodies.
Elemer of the Briar
Once you traverse the mist, you will enter a medium-sized hall with Elemer of the Briar waiting for you under a painting of Malenia. Although you will receive a legendary armament from him, he truly isn’t much trouble. Elemer’s attack mechanics are pretty slow, and it is very easy to keep your distance or fight up close and dodge.
One of the fastest ways to fell him is to use ranged weapons or spells while engaging him with your spirit summons. The spirit summons will distract him and allow you to mow him down from a distance. Once defeated, you will obtain the Maraias Executioner’s Sword, the Briar Greatshield, and all their might for you to wield going forward on your journey to becoming the Elden Lord.
