Final Fantasy XIV recently had the massive 6.2 update which brought in long-awaited features like the Island Sanctuary. Now the update has been around for a few weeks, the team behind the game has had plenty of time to work on patches and bug fixes that 6.2 needs. Thankfully, the game is in quite a stable state right now, but there are still a few issues that could cause you problems in specific circumstances.
As this patch is implemented worldwide, it, unfortunately, means that all worlds will need to go offline for a while to make sure everything runs smoothly. We’ll give you all the details on how long the FFXIV downtime is planned to last, and at what times the server maintenance will begin and end.
FFXIV downtime – How long will the servers be down?
According to a post on the official Final Fantasy 14 website, the server maintenance will last for eight hours. Here are the planned start and end times for each region:
September 12:
PDT: 7pm to September 13 at 3am.
EDT: 10pm to September 13 at 6am.
September 13:
BST: 3am to 11am.
CEST: 4am to 12pm.
JST: 11am to 7pm.
It’s important to note that the Home World Transfer Service and Data Center Travel System will also be going offline 30 minutes before the server maintenance begins and will remain offline for the duration. We will let you know what the 6.21 patch notes are as soon as they’re revealed, so make sure to keep checking back here.
