Harrison Ford On What It’s Like Joining MCU For 2024’s Captain America: New World Order

Actor Harrison Ford will appear in 2024’s Captain America: New World Order, marking his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has now commented on the experience of making the movie and specifically if it’s fun to make a Marvel movie.

“Uh. Yeah. I mean, there are tough days and easy days and fun days and all kinds of days,” he told Esquire. “It’s a tough schedule and, yeah, it’s fun. But it’s not a walk in the park. It’s not fun fun. It’s work.”

Ford plays Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in New World Order, and he’s now President of the United States. This won’t be Ford’s first time playing the Commander in Chief, as he first portrayed the president in 1997’s Air Force One. Ford joined New World Order as Ross after the original actor, William Hurt, passed away in 2022.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige previously talked about how Captain America, who is played by Anthony Mackie in New World Order, will have an “incredible” dynamic with Ford’s Ross in the film. Ford will also play Ross in Thunderbolts, which will also be released in 2024.

The MCU is just the latest gigantic series that Ford is joining. He’s also known for playing Han Solo in the Star Wars series and Indiana Jones. He’s coming back to play Indiana Jones for the last time in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which releases on June 30.
