If you’re looking for the latest info on the current and upcoming Genshin Impact banner, then look no further. Like with any gacha game, players can recruit new characters to their roster and acquire new weapons by spending in-game and real-world currency on a character’s banner, giving them a chance to try out new team makeups and playstyles. Banners are in constant rotation, with new updates every roughly three weeks and split across two phases.
There are a couple of banners for players to choose from. You’ve got the character event wish banner, which has a featured five-star character and three four-star characters with hugely increased drop rates. There is also the standard wish banner, which includes every non-event exclusive character and weapon, with new 4-star characters being added one update after their debut.
Lastly, there’s the Epitome Invocation, a weapons-only banner that features two five-star weapons and several four-star weapons that change regularly alongside new character banners.

What’s the current Genshin Impact Banner?
The current Genshin Impact character wish banner is Oni’s Royale and was released June 21st, 2022. It features the five-star character Arataki Itto, a descendent of the crimson oni and the leader and founder of the Arataki Gang. He uses a Claymore weapon and the Geo element.
Along with Itto, there are three additional characters you can draw from this banner. These characters are:
- Kuki Shinobu (Electro)
- Gorou (Geo)
- Chongyun (Cryo)
All these characters have increased drop rates during their banner duration. This banner will end on July 12th, 2022.
What’s the current Genshin Impact Weapon Banner?
The current Genshin Impact weapon banner is Epitome Invocation and was released June 21st, 2022, alongside Arakati Itto’s banner. This banner includes the following 7 weapons with increased drop rates:
Five-star weapons
- Redhorn Stonethresher (Claymore)
- Memory of Dust (Catalyst)
Four-star weapons
- Lithic Blade (Claymore)
- Lion’s Roar (Sword)
- Dragon’s Bane (Polearm)
- Sacrificial Fragments (Catalyst)
- The Stringless (Bow)
This banner will end on July 12th, 2022, on the same date as the Arataki Itto banner.
What is the next Genshin Impact banner?
The next banner is scheduled to release alongside the 2.8 update on July 13th, 2022. Right now we don’t have definitive details, but thanks to some prominent Genshin leakers, we might have a good idea of what’s to come in update 2.8.
According to credible Genshin Leaker ‘Lumie’, we could see the rerun of Kazuha and Klee, who have been away from the character event banner for quite some time. Lumie also suggests that the Phase 1 weapon banners will include Freedom-Sworn and Lost Prayer of the Scare, Kazuha and Klee’s respective weapons.
We currently know that the new character Shikanoin Heizou, an Anemo Catalyst user, will be released sometime in 2.8. If known Genshin leaker ‘Ubatcha’ is to be believed, we could see Heizou released in the first phase of patch 2.8. Given that Heizou is rumoured to be a four-star character, it’s likely he will feature as part of Kazuha’s or Klee’s banner.
Naturally, these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it certainly looks like update 2.8 is going to be a good one if the leaks are to be believed. Guess we just have to wait for the 2.8 Livestream, which is expected to broadcast on July 1st, 2022.
