A second testing phase is already live for Endless Dungeon, and you can play a pre-release version of the game featuring new classes in both solo and co-op modes for a limited time until November 28. The entry to testing session is free (courtesy of Euro Gamer).
Endless Dungeon is the next title in the Endless franchise and the upcoming project from Amplitude, the team behind Humankind. Unlike the previous Endless entries such as Space and Legend, Endless Dungeon is not a 4X strategy game. It is actually a sequel to Dungeon of the Endless that was released back in 2014 as a tower-defense game on PC, consoles, and mobile.
Originally announced back in 2020, Endless Dungeon offers a 3-player roguelite co-op experience, where players get to choose a character class and fight against AI enemies while progressing through the dungeon.
The current testing phase includes Gunslinger, Support, and Tank classes, each featuring their own heroes. The developers have also added Shroom as a playable hero in the new testing phase. The co-op mode can either be played via matchmaking or your own friends. Moreover, you can expect to meet a new family of monsters called the Blobs, mutated creatures that are either roam around individually or in small groups. Bots and Bugs will also be available during the test as already announced enemies.
The Meta Progression system is another big surprise for this new testing phase where you will get to understand how your achievements in a run can make things easier for your next run with improvements, modifications, and upgrades.
As mentioned earlier, Endless Dungeon testing phase is available for free, but the overall number of players are limited, which means you need to hurry if you want to be included. The game is developed based on Sega’s OpenDev program where the developers receive feedback for different game mechanics from the community during the development.
You can visit the OpenDev page for Endless Dungeon via this link, where you can learn more about the new testing phase and participate if you are interested.
Endless Dungoen will be available on PC and consoles, but it doesn’t have a release window yet.
