Dragons Dogma 2 is the dragon-slaying fantasy roleplaying game we all want and need on the market. However, with the newest release, we need to know if crossplay will be enabled or if multiplayer will be featured at all in Dragons Dogma 2.
Will there be crossplay in Dragons Dogma 2?
There won’t be any crossplay in Dragons Dogma 2 because there won’t be any need for it. Dragons Dogma 2 won’t feature any multiplayer capabilities at all. So you’re all alone, no matter what platform you are playing on. The lack of multiplayer is an interesting choice with an RPG like this. However, it is one that means the single-player focus will be 100%.
Of course, with games like Baldurs Gate, the online multiplayer and crossplay were amazing. However, it isn’t always necessary, and it can be nice just to go it alone. No multiplayer and no crossplay in Dragons Dogma 2 just means that they have fully focused on the game being as impressive and immersive in single-player as possible.
Not every game needs to be a multiplayer title, and I think I prefer it when a game decides against the norm and just keeps it solo. By excluding the option to have online multiplayer, the game guarantees a storyline that will keep players gripped, even without anyone else to play with.
Will we ever see multiplayer?
I doubt very much that Capcop will decide to shoehorn in Multiplayer after release. This game looks to be entirely single-player focused, offering enough to keep dragon slayers invested anyway. As the game goes on, there will very likely be DLC to bring players back even after completion.
If you’re looking for an online fantasy RPG why not try something like Baldurs Gate 3? The huge storyline can be enjoyed alone or with friends for an on-screen Dungeons and Dragons experience.
