Here’s whether or not Rika Orimoto could defeat Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen.

At this point, there’s little doubt that Sukuna is the big bad to beat in Jujutsu Kaisen. Malevolent to a fault and host to more than enough power to carry out whichever actions he wishes, the King of Curses is an insurmountable threat that the protagonists of the show will have to destroy by any means necessary. Fortunately, a few different options have presented themselves thus far, and if you’ve seen Jujutsu Kaisen 0, you’re probably wondering: Can Rika Orimoto defeat Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Well, for better or worse, we’ve got an answer for you. Before going any further though, it’s worth mentioning that we’ll be pulling information from every available part of the wider series for this explainer. To that end, be warned that there are *Minor Spoilers Ahead.*
Could Rika Orimoto Beat Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen? Answered
As it stands, Rika Orimoto would likely be a good match for Sukuna if they were to fight in Jujutsu Kaisen.
This is due to a few different factors, with the first being that she’s directly powered and enhanced as a Curse by Okkotsu Yuta. This is fortunate, as he is host to Cursed Energy on par with Satoru Gojo’s and could feasibly have more than enough to match Sukuna’s monstrous reserves.
Likewise, having Yuta at her side is a given should a conflict arise between herself and Sukuna. This is because Yuta is the reason she became a Curse in the first place, and she would be tied to Yuta indefinitely if she were to be wherever Sukuna is.
Finally, there’s the destructive power of her attacks to consider. While Sukuna’s full destructive capabilities during the Shinjuku Arc are certainly intimidating, Rika has showed the potential to deal out just as much death and destruction. Most notably, she showed she could stand up to the destructive force of several thousand Curses and still come out unscathed in the battle between Yuta and Suguru Geto.
This means that she’d be able to match Sukuna’s outlandish attacks with ones of her own, complete with enough damage-dealing potential to account for Sukuna’s healing-based Reversed Cursed Techniques.
Will Rika Orimoto and Sukuna Ever Fight? Answered
Unfortunately, this is all a hypothetical that likely won’t come to pass in Jujutsu Kaisen.
This is because Rika Orimoto is no longer an active Curse and was successfully released by Yuta at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. As such, she’s now in the afterlife and can no longer be brought back down to Earth by any known method.
About the closest alternative would be the manifestation of Yuta’s Cursed Energy and Cursed Technique, which he still refers to as Rika. This is just a vestige of the real Rika though, and it doesn’t carry nearly as much power and potential for destruction as Rika herself did.
All the same, we’ll keep an eye on the series and update this guide accordingly if some MacGuffin brings her back into the fold.
