Black Desert will relocate NA PC servers May 22, opens North Kamasylvia region on mobile

There’s some potentially good news for NA players of Black Desert on PC this week: After some testing and preparation, the MMORPG’s NA servers will be physically relocated on Wednesday, May 22nd, to a new location in the central US in the hopes of providing a better playing experience.

This decision stemmed from data findings by Pearl Abyss, which showed that most players who connect to NA servers located on the west coast are located in the east coast, resulting in sub-optimal performance, especially when interacting with those from opposite sides of the country. The central US relocation should provide a more stable latency for everyone in North America. “Overall, based on our findings, we believe the relocation will do its part in enhancing the gameplay experience for most NA Adventurers,” the studio reasons.

The preparation of these new servers will take place during regular maintenance on May 22nd, but downtime may be longer for players in the NA and EU regions. More details will be shared before that week’s scheduled maintenance.

In the meantime, PC players have a bit of a smaller patch this week that kicks off some new events, tweaks some UI features, and applies some bug fixes. A larger update has arrived to BDO Mobile, which introduced North Kamasylvia to the game as well as a new chaos rift and a lengthy lineup of class balance tweaks.
