The base building is a huge part of Palworld. Your plantation and workshop need to be in top condition to keep your Pals happy. However, I found that, while trying to build my house, placing a slanted roof was an absolute nightmare in Palworld.

Palworld is still in early access, so I will give the team some leeway. However, currently, trying to place a slanted roof is very buggy and not intuitive. It took a lot of trial and error before I got the technique down. Obviously, the roof is just aesthetic, but aesthetics are everything.

The problem with fitting the slanted roof in Palworld is trying to get it to click into place. I found that, more often than not, the roof would try to clip to the floor. This is obviously a bug and will eventually be fixed. For now, the best way I found to build a slanted roof was to build everything around it first.

First, build the walls around the structure. Then, use the angled wall piece to set up where you would like to build the slanted roof pieces. This will give the troublesome slanted roof pieces more things to clip to in Palworld. If you are still struggling to place the roof, I found that getting elevated helped. I climbed on top of my building and built from there.

It will get better

Patience is key in this situation. As Palworld moves through early access, I am sure that they will change and improve their base-building abilities. But, for now, these tricks are your best bet. The base building is still rather rudimentary in Palworld, with few shapes and structures. However, as the team works, I am sure there will be many more additions to the selection.
