Medals are the best way to acquire the best and baddest weapons in Helldivers 2, so at some point, you may have to end up farming them. It isn’t pleasant, but if you want to be geared up the eyeballs fast, then it’s the only way. After hours of farming, this is the technique I use.
Best Medal farming technique in Helldivers 2
Medals can be acquired in one or two ways in Helldivers 2. You can find them out in the field, and you can be awarded them for successful completion of missions. What I found as the best method for getting lots fast is to find the happy medium between the two.
I needed to be able to run through levels quickly to get the medals at the end. Also, I needed a map in which I could travel around without too much hassle. So, although going for higher-level missions rewards more Medals, I struggled to find all the Points Of interest, and the missions took longer. In the end, I opted for missions with more than two stages at a level slightly below my skill.
- Run through a series of lower-level missions – Quickly blast through unchallenging missions to get the endgame Medals bonus as quickly as possible. Mission types like bug extermination can be completed very quickly if the game doesn’t have issues with spawning.
- Explore the whole map – Make sure to explore every point of interest to maximise the amount of Medals you can collect in Helldivers 2. I would often find I could easily double the number of Medals I collected simply through exploration.
- Complete Daily Challenges – Keep an eye on your daily challenges to quickly rack up Medals in Helldivers 2.
Like any grind, patience and perseverance are key when it comes to Medal collecting. However, the temptation is to play really easy levels at Trivial and Easy. But, I found these maps resulted in a lot less reward. I could run through the challenges quickly, but the rewards diminished below medium.
