American Horror Stories, What We Do In The Shadows, And Other FX Series Get Premiere Dates

Summer hasn’t even started yet, but FX has announced its premiere dates for eight new or returning series–like American Horror Stories and What We Do In The Shadows–and as a result, probably has planted a flag in your plans for the next few months. Below, you can find synopses, debut dates for FX’s upcoming slate–plus information on where these shows will all air or stream.

A particularly nice surprise amid the announcements is the quicker-than-expected return of the vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows, which will come back for Season 4 on July 12. The season should be pretty interesting and in a way function as a bit of a series reset. If you aren’t current on the show, skip ahead to miss some major spoilers: At the end of Season 3, the core group of vampires pretty much split up and went their separate ways. Energy vampire Colin Robinson died and was reborn as a baby that, apparently, will be raised by Laszlo; Guillermo was hoodwinked into visiting England with Nadja; Nandor goes his own way.

Not long after that, the second installment of the anthology American Horror Stories will premiere July 21 on Hulu. Last year, FX proclaimed that Season 1 was “the most successful to date of any FX on Hulu series.” As is typical with streaming platforms, it wasn’t clear this brag about its content means as far as total viewership. But, American Horror Stories is a spin-off of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s award-winning hit anthology series American Horror Story, so anticipation is high.
