We’ve learned Activision was planning a remastered collection for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, prior to Vicarious Visions being merged fully into Blizzard Entertainment.

News that a remastered collection for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 was being considered arrived via a livestream between Twitch streamer andyTHPS and the legendary man himself, Tony Hawk.

When teased by the streamer that maybe someday Activision will do a remaster for both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4, the Birdman spilled the beans:

“I mean that was the plan, you know, even up until the release date of this, [THPS1+2] we were going 3+4, and then Vicarious got kind of absorbed, and they were looking for other developers, and then it was over,” Tony Hawk said.

When a discussion began over whether or not such a remaster was even possible anymore, Tony added some more thoughts:

“They were actually – I mean, the truth of it is they were trying to find someone to do 3 and 4, but they just didn’t trust anyone the way that they did Vicarious.,” Tony said. “So they took other pitches from other studios. Like what “would you do with the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater title?” and they didn’t like anything they heard. And then that was it.”

“I wish there was some way to bring it back. I mean, who knows? Maybe when all the dust settles, we’ll figure it out,” Tony said in closing.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 has been available for Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review for the games here.
