In Chapter 7 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you’ll be tasked with doing a lap of the world to gather Origin Metal. Once you’ve done this, the Nopon engineer, Samon, will offer up a new side quest. He reveals that the many odd shards you’ve likely stumbled upon during your adventure are actually Origin Shards, which can be used for a special purpose.
However, before he can get to work, you need to complete the quest “Unite the Seven Nopon”, as they all wield the Ultimate Hammer, but are scattered across Aionios. Just in case the Nopon Register quest didn’t scratch your Nopon-hunting itch, in this guide we’ll show you where all of the Seven Nopon are, not counting Samon, who gives you the quest.

Burrburr – Sage’s Domicile
Early on in the game, if you follow around the bottom of the cliff on the western edge of the Fornis region desert, you eventually come across a huge cave opening. Follow this cave and you’ll be greeted with some weird puzzle doors. Press on to the end and you’ll meet Skillskill, who unlocks the Nopon Coin Xchange. However, next to him is Burrburr, who you’ll need for this quest.
Tempapa – Cadensia region
For Tempapa to appear, you first need to complete Riku & Manana’s Ascension quest, “Culinary Repertoire”. Afterwards, talk to him in the spot where he waits and he’ll join you.
Fixifixi – Li Garte Prison
After you liberate the prison during the story events of Chapter 5, Fixifixi will wait, staring at the wall in the southmost prison cell. However, if you try to talk to him he won’t respond, this is because you need to bring the Hero Valdi with you to speak with him.
Panepane – Hillside Ferronis Hulk
Early on in the game, you’ll likely encounter the “Collapsed Traderpon” quest, which will end with PanePane sticking around at the Hillside Ferronis Hulk, simply return to him now and he’ll join you.
Gingin – Lower Maktha Wildwood
Run down the tree branch that leads into the Lower Maktha Wildwood and carefully avoid fighting any of the Level 70+ enemies that might spot you. On the southern edge, there are some platforms built into the tree, climb the ladders up and speak to Gingin. He will have you complete the short quest “The Wildwood Life” and he’ll join you when you speak to him again.
Discussing the final Nopon
Once you’ve collected these five Nopon, a discussion will unlock, so head to camp and select it. Your party will have a small chat and discover that the final Nopon is someone you know quite well.
Return to Samon and the quest will complete, unlocking the ability to upgrade your weapons. Don’t get too excited though, as this doesn’t actually make them more powerful in battle. However, it does make them look way cooler.
