The first season of the television adaptation of Fallout is now out, but will it be renewed for a second season? Read on to find out all the details.

All eight episodes of the adaptation of the video game franchise arrived on Amazon Prime Video on April 10, and many fans and critics have given the show positive reviews.

It stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Army of the Dead) as Lucy, a young woman who leaves her nuclear bunker to venture out into the wasteland of post-apocalyptic Los Angeles to look for her father, played by Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet).

In a three-star review of the series, NME wrote that “Fallout takes a bit of time to settle on a tone. While it initially leans heavily on slapstick humour, there’s a steady improvement when these gags become fewer and more outlandish,” adding: “It’s a shame that everything takes so long to come together, because by the time it does, you’ll be thoroughly hooked.”

The success of Fallout has seen a spike in interest in the Fallout games, with Fallout 4 reaching an all-time high of concurrent players over the weekend on Steam.

A number of artists who feature on the 1950s-themed soundtrack to the show, including Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby and Johnny Cash, have also seen their streaming numbers increase dramatically.
