The new lineup of slimes in Slime Rancher 2 is easily one of the most exciting parts of the game. That thrill of exploring the world and stumbling upon something you’ve never seen before is something few games can still capture, but that’s what you do as you explore the Rainbow Islands.

The Angler Slimes were one of the first new species shown off, and it’s clear to see why. These slimes look adorable with the little light coming out of their head, even if they are based on one of the most terrifying creatures the sea has ever created. We’ll tell you where to find them, what they like to eat, and anything else you might need to know about farming them.

If you’re looking for Angler Slimes, then you’re in luck, as they spawn in quite a few places around the world. First of all, you’ll need to follow our guide on how to get to Ember Valley and Starlight Strip, as that’s where they are. Once there, you’re on the lookout for any of the tidepool areas, which are typically close to sea level and along the coast of an island. In short, if you see any kind of water on an island, following it will probably lead you to Angler Slimes.

Much like the Anglerfish on which these slimes are based, these slimes need to eat meat to produce plorts. Hen Hens are the easiest source of meat in the game, but if you want your Angler Slimes to produce double plorts, you need to feed them Sea Hens, which tend to nest nearby to these slimes on the coast.

While it isn’t a threat to the player, these slimes can unleash a big flash from their antenna which stuns any hens or slimes in range. It won’t damage you, but the constant noise and stunning can be annoying if you’re keeping a lot of them in one coral. To make life a little easier for you, it’s recommended you Largo them with a slime that eats fruits or veggies, which are quicker to farm.
