Where to find the first shell in Another Crab’s Treasure

Shells are an integral part of Another Crab’s Treasure. But it can be a little while until you find one. If you aren’t sure where to look, here’s how to find your first Shell in Another Crab’s Treasure.

Another Crab’s Treasure: Where to find the first Shell

After your very first Shell is stolen from you by the shark stick, you’ll be left extremely vulnerable. After all, the Shell is what lets you block enemy attacks and later access Umami abilities that can be a massive help in combat.

The good news is that the first Shell isn’t too far away from where you first start the game. Once you enter the first wide-open area, the game will direct you to a castle off in the distance. This should be your first port of call and if you can’t remember where it is check the Location screen in the menu.

Once you arrive at the castle, a couple of guards will tell you to head east. And if you follow their directions you’ll eventually come across a large vending machine with a glowing button. Simply hit this button and a bunch of cans will come flying out. These cans are what you’ll use as your very first Shell in the game.

Be warned though, as picking up this Shell will initiate a boss fight against Nephro, Captain of the Guard. This encounter isn’t too brutal but follow along with our Nephro boss guide if you’re struggling.

Where to find other Shells

The can isn’t a great Shell admittedly since it can only absorb about three strikes before breaking. But thankfully once you get this shell you’ll find others now appear in the world. So anytime you see something that looks like it could work as a Shell, be sure to pick it up and try it out.

Shells aren’t the only thing to focus on in Another Crab’s Shell though. You’ll also want to carefully spend your skill points at the start to have the best chances against stronger opponents.
