There’s a lot of wildlife in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, beyond just the usual assortment of Bokoblins and Moblins and such. As a warrior living off the land, you naturally want to interact with as much of this wildlife as possible. Most of it can be turned into tasty ingredients for useful recipes. Here is our guide on where to find Stealthfin Trout in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – where to find Stealthfin Trout

For most fish that encounter Link, the likely end result is placement on a skewer of some sort. These simple dishes are a great way to restore your health. You can fix them with mushrooms and other ingredients to generate additional status effects, as well.

The best place to find and farm Stealthfin Trout is in the water just south of the Great Hyrule Forest. There is a large body of water to the north of Rauru Hillside. You can stand along higher points of its south shore, then jump out and glide over the water to land among schools of fish and easily grab several of them. There’s not really a current to fight, the way there is with rivers. If you venture to the western edge of that water, there are also boards you might use to fashion a raft (see location on map below).

If you intend to easily catch a bunch of Stealthfin Trout, visit at night. The fish glow lightly in the dark, making them easy to spot and leading to questions about how they got their name. Stealthy they are not.

You can make your initial approach by traveling from the south. Head north along the road from the Woodland Stable location, through Minshi Woods. Then veer west just ahead of the entrance to the larger forest. If you don’t want to return to shore a lot, bring along supplies to refill stamina, but that’s not strictly necessary. Personally, I like swimming out from the shore just fine, and I often catch two or three fish at a time. The area is absolutely loaded with fish.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for purchase on the Nintendo Store.
