Where to find Gulpers in Fallout 76

The more I play Fallout 76, the weirder the creatures I encounter. If you’ve met the Radtoads, you know exactly what I’m talking about. On the other hand, Gulpers aren’t quite as terrifying but can still make one’s skin crawl. They are important for many reasons such as getting challenges and other resources. If you’re here to learn where to find Gulpers in Fallout 76, read below Vault Dweller.

Fallout 76: Where to find Gulpers

These salamander-like creatures usually hang out near water and can be found sleeping on trees. But even if I look in those spots, there seems to be a limited amount of them. So let’s hone in on the search for the Gulpers.

The obvious spot to search for them is Gulper Lagoon. You can use the map below to help pinpoint the exact spot. In the lagoon, there usually are at least four Gulpers around the water. If you’re doing a challenge, Gulper Lagoon is a great spot to start one.

Gulper Lagoon isn’t the only spot in the Appalachia that spawns them. The spots below have Gulpers appear, but it’s not a guarantee. In any case, you should still search while you’re there. You may find some crucial loot.

  1. Dyer Chemical: This entire area should have Gulpers roaming around. It seems like this spot has a very high chance of them spawning.
  2. Dolly Sods Campground: In the Mire region, the campground could have the creatures spawn here. However, unlike Dyer Chemicals, the rate isn’t that high.
  3. Pylon V-13: If you head to the Cranberry Bog region, Gulpers should be appearing here as well. Just make sure you’re looking near the water.

How to deal with Gulpers

They may look like a one-shot kill type of monster, but they are anything but. First, their health slowly regenerates, second, they can dodge bullets quite well. Mixing that with the fact that they can rush you is also not a good sign. If you enter their territory and see them in the tall trees, they are just waiting to pounce on you.

Before you go and decide to hunt Gulpers for challenges in Fallout 76, consider upgrading your equipment and finding Ballistic Fibers to do so. It’ll make your guns happy. Another tip I’m going to leave you with is that houses and stairs for some reason are the Gulper’s weakness or fear. If you’re being chased by a mob of these guys, look for a house to go into. They won’t follow you in. It’s a weird tactic, but trust me it works.

Gulpers are just the tip of the iceberg of scary and weird creatures in Fallout 76. Lesser Devils seem to take the cake in both departments. Use our guide to find and beat them.
