What do the hands mean in your questlog in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

For some strange reason, Dragon’s Dogma 2 seems to either not tell you important information or reveal a mechanic later on after you’ve figured it out. One of them is those hand symbols that appear in your questlog. If you’re curious about what those hands mean in your questlog of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’re not alone.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: What do the hands mean in your questlog?

In short, those hands reflect the Pawns in your party. Your Pawn will always be blue, whereas the ones you hired will be red. Knowing this is important because it can help you with many quests. Sometimes Pawns will tell you a treasure is out of reach that they may be able to obtain, other times, you can command the Pawn to guide you. That’s because they have extra information that you need.

When you go into your questlog, you’ll see the quests on the left with hands on the right. As mentioned, the color indicates which Pawn it is. However, each hand will have a number. If you have a full party of three Pawns, and your questlog shows a red hand with the number three, for example, that means Pawn number three can help you complete that quest. So, if you’re trying to find out who’s behind the Phantom Cart, see if you have a Pawn in your party that can assist you.

Will all quests show hands?

From my experience, not every quest will have a hand. Some quests that I’ve found that don’t have a Pawn number are the ones that have you collecting certain resources. However, there are a few that can have a Pawn offering aid in finding those resources. Most of the missions that require you to go somewhere, deliver something, or find someone, will usually have a Pawn leading it.

You don’t always have to use this feature, but I do since the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is quite massive. The Pawn system in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is quite deep and immersive. But can you romance them? Find out how to here.
