Early on in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, you’ll be tasked to correctly answer some riddles from Halsey, Leysha’s daughter.
There are three riddles in total, and answering them isn’t quite so straightforward. But don’t worry – we’re here to help. If you answer Halsey’s riddles incorrectly, it ultimately doesn’t matter. But getting the answers right will reduce your hunger rating a little. Always helpful, when you’re surrounded by blood.
Halsey’s Riddles in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong pop up during the first proper mission you’re in charge of Leysha. You’ll find yourself at the scene of a horrendous crime: a vampire party has been infiltrated by hunters, and lots of people are dead. And, surrounded by so much blood, Leysha struggles to keep her hunger under control.

Luckily, little Halsey is on board to take their mind off things with some riddles.
Here are the answers to Halsey’s riddles in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong:
Riddle One: what makes a good slave but a bad master?
Answer: Fire. Fire is endlessly useful when it’s under control (i.e. a “slave”) but if it’s left to take control (i.e. become the “master”), it can be deadly.
Riddle Two: what are mortals afraid of that they keep in a box?
Answer: the cold. This one is a little more obscure. But nobody likes the cold, and we keep it in a box – i.e. the refrigerator.
Riddle Three: “If the Childe of Hazel Iverson is the sire of my Childe, who am I to Hazel Iverson?”
Answer: Her childe. In Vampire: The Masquerade lore, a sire is the person who turns you into a vampire. You, in turn, become their childe.
