Warzone 2 leak points towards a Resurgence map launching with Season Two

Ever since Call of Duty: Warzone 2 went live back in November, Al Mazrah has been the only map available to play. As its the game’s main map, it focuses on the traditional battle royale experience. However, some players may be wondering about Resurgence maps and modes. A recent leak suggests that Warzone 2 could be getting a Resurgence map sooner, though, rather than later.

Resurgence was first introduced to fans with Rebirth Island, which quickly became a fan favorite after entering Warzone in 2020. The smaller map allowed for more engagements and fast-paced combat. Respawning was also enabled, allowing you to get back in the action as long as at least one player in your squad stayed alive.

A Resurgence map could arrive in Warzone 2 with Season Two

According to a report from Insider Gaming, two of their sources have claimed that a Resurgence map will launch in Warzone 2 with Season Two. Although it’s unknown what the map could look like, previous leaks have pointed towards the Castle map from World at War as a point of interest. Also, the report notes that the operator Ronin from Modern Warfare 2019 could be getting ready to make a return to the franchise.

Activision is yet to confirm when Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season Two will officially begin. However, the Season One battle pass expires on February 1, 2023, suggesting the upcoming season will kick off then.

Resurgence style maps were extremely popular in the first installment of Warzone. Since Warzone 1 was rebranded to Warzone Caldera when Warzone 2 made its debut, there hasn’t been anything to cater for Resurgence fans. Therefore, the launch of such map will likely be welcomed with open arms by the Warzone 2 community. We will have to be on the look out for any official announcements regarding a Warzone 2 Resurgence map in the coming weeks.
