After the Cypher buff and Fade nerf in November updates of Valorant, now Riot Games aims to finally reveal the upcoming changes to Chamber, one of the mightiest Agents in the game that many consider overpowered.
In a recent tweet, the community manager for Valorant Jeff Landa shared a highlight of news that we should expect to hear more about in December 2022, including an update for map rotation, a beefy list of changes and improvements in Patch 5.12, a comprehensive preview of Chamber changes, and an update for the smurfing report. The tweet also refers to the investigation of a “VAL superstition,” which fans believe should be a hint about the return of Night Market, as we had a Night Market in December back 2021 as well.
While it remains unknown what would be changed about the game in Patch 5.12, it seems next month is going to have many important changes in Valorant. The Chamber update is probably what people are most excited to hear about, especially esports and top-ranked competitive players, for whom Chamber is an important pick for sniping, due to Agent’s spectacular ability in holding angles, repositioning, and covering the flank.
On the other hand, the update for map rotation has started the speculation around the return of Split to the Competitive map pool once again, but it remains unknown which map is going to be removed from the pool. It is also suggested in previous leaks that Riot is already working on a new map, but we can’t confirm whether it would be coming as soon as next month or not. With a quick look at the Twitter replies for Jeff Landa, you will realize that Breeze, Icebox, and Pearl are among the maps that players want to be removed, though it is unlikely to see Pearl get out of the map pool.
It’s yet to be seen whether a new bundle would be announced during December 2022, but we do know that Abyssal will go live as the featured bundle soon.
According to leaks, Patch 5.12 is expected to go live on PBE servers this weekend.
