Developer Stunlock Studios has announced the vampire themed survival open-world game has hit the 500,000 player mark.
V Rising The Open World Survival Game Hits 500,000 Players Milestone
Confirmed by the devs themselves, V Rising has had 500,000 players now exploring the open-world of Vardoran. The survival game that combines RPG elements with vampiric abilities has gained a new milestone. Over half a million vampires now battling it out in the game.
What is V Rising?
In case you missed it, V Rising entered early access on Steam last week, which peaked at over 150,000 concurrent players on Steam during its first week according to Steamdb. Players who venture into the game during early access can experience the world as a vampire who has recently arisen from slumber, ready to fight, craft, build, and fight some more.
The game garnered quite some attention as it offers a fun PVE experience for those who just want to fight the many beasts, poachers, bosses and more. Or those who want to battle it out against fellow vamps with the use of melee weapons and using supernatural abilities gained from killing menacing foes. The added mechanic of being burned by the sun also adds some further challenge, sticking to the shadows is key for survival.
V Rising lets vampires build their castle, hunt down foes and fellow vampires. Just watch out for that Sun, it’s killer!
But it’s not just about killing. Players need to gather materials and resources to build a base. The castle also needs to be fed blood in order to survive.
Early Access and Beyond
V Rising is expected to stay in early access over the course of the next 12 months, where after leaving early access the price will rise. The development promises to give players “the best experience possible”.

We’ve been enjoying checking out the vampire survival game over on Twitch, so you can check it out with us when we’re live. It’s been pretty smooth sailing trying out private games, with up to 40 players. Joining one of the public servers has up to 60 or more. But the world is quite big, so don’t expect to run into players at every corner.
V Rising is now available in early access on Steam for $19.99 USD.
