This Keanu Reeves Classic Is Getting The Flashy 4K Steelbook It Deserves

Fast & Furious has become one of the biggest movie franchises in the world, but we shouldn’t forget that the first movie in that sprawling series was mocked as being little more than a street racing-themed rip-off of Point Break. While the classic action flick starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze didn’t spawn any sequels, Point Break’s influence is still felt 30 years after it originally came out. And this summer, the movie is getting a snazzy new 4K steelbook release that collectors and fans alike will want on their shelves. It arrives on July 2, and you can preorder today.

Point Break is just the latest in a recent wave of classic movies with new 4K Blu-ray releases on the way. RoboCop 2 is getting a Collector’s Edtion 4K Blu-ray later this year, while one of Tom Cruise’s best action movies, Collateral, is getting a 4K steelbook edition. And though it’s not a new release, the 4K steelbook edition of The Fifth Element just got a reprint.

If you’re looking for comedies, limited-edition 4K Blu-rays of the original SpongeBob Squarepants Movie, South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut, and Team America: World Police are all on the way. Meanwhile, the Weird Al comedy UHF is getting its first-ever 4K release soon, too. All of these new releases are available for preorder at Amazon.
